APPLE

Harold Edgerton’s famous high speed picture of a bullet going through an apple. Taken in 1964, it became a very famous image , not least because it was such an unusual photo based on a great achievement in high speed photography. Edgerton, professor at MIT, is also inventor of the strobe flash and a pioneer of stop-action photography. He collaborated with Jacques-Yves Cousteau to experiment photographing some of the deepest seabed’s in the world.

It is an iconiuc photo to me because the image of an apple being hit by a bullet at slow motion is very interesting and conveys a felling a power as the bullet goes thought the apple. It has been reproduced many times and is a pop culture phenomenon.
